What has Clyde Butcher
been up to, recently? He's been knee-deep, literally, in aquatic
preserves. Clyde teamed up with the state's Department of Environmental
Protection, the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration, and Live
Oak Production Group, to visit 16 Florida Aquatic Preserves throughout the
state. The end result is a
traveling show of Clyde's photographs, as well as a book, calendar, and a
film by Live Oak Production Group to be offered to public broadcasting
stations.
Published in 2004, Living Waters ~ Aquatic
Preserves of Florida, consists of photographs taken while Clyde was working
on the PBS documentary with Elam Stolzfus of Live Oak Productions. The book
measures 9"x 12" with eighty pages and sixty-one photographs, including five
spreads (one images across two pages), and a forward by Mr. David Stuhs,
Secretary of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. There is also a
preface by Clyde and an introduction by Elam Stolzfus, the producer of the PBS
documentary, Living Waters ~ Aquatic Preserves of Florida.
