This area of Big Talbot Island, near Jacksonville, reminds me of the coast of California near Carmel; rugged and wind-blown. It is a fun area to photograph because of all the barren trees and driftwood laying about the beach.

One of Clyde’s first goals after his stroke was

One of Clyde’s first goals after his stroke was to be able to walk the distance of the Highlands Hammock boardwalk using his walker…and of course, taking photographs along the way. He did it and also took some wonderful photographs too! It seemed everywhere we looked along the boardwalk were photographic opportunities. It was a perfect day filled with the joy of doing what we love…photography.

We are excited to announce that Clyde's Cuba Exhibit is now open at the Clearwater Library!

This collection documents Clyde’s journey through Cuba on three separate expeditions. Discovering the warmth and hospitality of the Cuban people, through his photography, Clyde has helped open Cuba’s natural beauty to the world.

From mountain waterfalls to lush green jungles and grassy swamps to sandy beaches, his photographs reveal the seductive beauty, subtle grandeur, and majesty of this diverse island. The expedition to Cuba took him to places not seen by visitors in over fifty years.

The Chelsea Flower Show is off to a great start! L

The Chelsea Flower Show is off to a great start! Last week we gave a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the printing process taking place at the Venice Gallery and Studio for two of Clyde’s mural-sized prints that are part of the Orchid Conservation display at the show.

After the prints were completed at Clyde’s studio in Venice, FL, they were shipped to London where the team’s framer mounted them in preparation for the installation.

In these pictures of the finished display, Cigar Orchid Pond is serving as a backdrop to the massive terrarium showcasing the natural habitat of the Florida Ghost Orchid. Visitors are able to see a live Ghost Orchid in this space, brought all the way to London from Chicago Botanic Garden! We are all hopeful that the orchid blooms during its time at the show.

Ghost Orchid 2 is the backdrop for the opposite side of the booth where visitors get a chance to talk with biologists and orchid specialists from prestigious institutions around the US and UK about various orchids and the unique, fragile ecosystem which is home to Florida’s native Ghost Orchid.

Anyone wishing to visit the Chelsea Flower Show can find this display with Clyde’s photos inside the Great Pavilion at booth GPD055. The show is ongoing until May 27th.
