Features images of one of Florida's beloved rivers and the landscapes that surround it. DETAILS: Hardcover book | linen bound with dust jacket | Book size is 12” x 10” | 59 black and white photographs | 5 double page spreads In this collection, Clyde brings to life the tannic waters of the Apalachicola River and takes us on a journey along the Florida landmark, from the shallow creeks of Torreya State Park to the battered shores of St. Vincent Island, just days after Hurricane Dennis made landfall in 2005. The Apalachicola River is the heart of Florida’s Panhandle. Steep bluffs, grassy glades, and rich forests rise from the banks of the watery trail as it winds one hundred miles from the Georgia border to the Gulf of Mexico. This natural treasure is the lifeblood for a vast expanse of untouched land, providing a home to rare, threatened and endangered wildlife. Once a navigable highway for steamboats carrying cotton, today the river is a hub for ecotourism and supports a productive recreational and commercial fishery.
