Death Valley National Park, CA

Zabriskie Point 1
Photographic Story Niki and I took our family to Death Valley in the 1970’s and saw nothing to photograph. When we returned in 2006 to give a workshop I was stunned by the beauty of the place. The textures and formations found in the valley are a photographers dream. After the workshop was finished, Niki and I stayed behind to do some of our own photography. Being the first of April, it was a mere 100. The dry heat was a challenge and quite a change from the humid weather of Florida. But, this was a great day. The clouds were beautiful and we were the only ones out on the dunes, so there were no footprints to disturb the sand. Digital – Archival Pigment Print This photograph was taken with an analog large format camera. After Clyde develops the negative, the film is scanned and edited in a computer program mimicking his darkroom techniques. The photograph is printed on an Epson Stylus 4800 or 11880 printer. Clyde uses archival Ultra-chrome K3 ink and prints on archival Harman Hahnemuhle paper. The limited edition photograph is then mounted and matted to current archival standards. This is a limited edition series and each photograph is numbered.
