Cabballete De Casa
Photographic Story We were driving across Cuba on our way to the Sierra Maestra Mountains when I came across this scene. It reminded me of Florida cattle country, the only difference was mountains in the background. As we were driving Niki and I began a spirited political conversation. I don’t think people from our country understand that most countries don’t debate politics publicly, but we are so use to the freedom of speech that it never occurs to us until we realize we are embarrassing our hosts. Anyway, as we continued our conversation we wanted to include our guide in the conversation. He was not forthcoming. Finally he said, “I can only tell you this, when Bush lies his nose grows longer and longer. When Castro lies, his nose grows longer and longer. Pretty soon they won’t be able to kiss.” We laughed because it was true, what more could be said? It was the end of the conversation. Digital – Archival Pigment Print This photograph was taken with an analog large format camera. After Clyde develops the negative, the film is scanned and edited in a computer program mimicking his darkroom techniques. The photograph is printed on an Epson Stylus 4800 or 11880 printer. Clyde uses archival Ultra-chrome K3 ink and prints on archival Harman Hahnemuhle paper. The limited edition photograph is then mounted and matted to current archival standards. This is a limited edition series and each photograph is numbered.
