Myakka Living Oak
After Hurricane Irma ravaged Florida, we were concerned about the condition of Myakka River State Park. Our curiosity got the better of us, and we headed to the park to check it out. As we were driving through Myakka, we came across this beautiful oak tree and marveled at how it had survived this hurricane and many others that had previously passed through this area. Through all the difficulties, the tree had adapted, weaving its roots into a mesmerizing natural sculpture. It reminded me of people who have suffered trauma, only to emerge even more beautiful because of it. This photograph is printed on a large format Epson printer using genuine Epson ink and archival Harman Hahnemuhle paper. Each photograph is digitally signed, then mounted and matted to current archival standards. This is a limited edition series and each photograph is numbered.
