PRAIRIE CREEK REDWOODS 1
Redwood National Park, California
Photographic Story As I got out my camera gear and prepared to take a picture, I was amazed at the enormous number of people who would stop their cars, jump out excitedly, and run around in circles pointing up at the redwoods. Then they’d quickly jump back in and head on to the next “pull-out” on the side of the road, never taking the time to hike the trails and experience the spiritual rejuvenation offered by the forest. This occurrence was a reminder to me that I should not rush through life, striving merely to reach a destination, when the trip itself is a wonderful joy. Analog – Archival Silver Gelatin Photograph Clyde’s silver gelatin black and white images are created using an 8” x 10”, 11” x 14”, or 12” x 20” view camera. Clyde prints his images in his own darkroom on fiber-base paper in a limited edition. The photographs are selenium toned, then mounted and matted to current archival standards. His images come in sizes from 8” x 10” inches to 5’x 8’ feet. His love of art and nature is seen in the exceptional detail and more subtle textures of his photography.
