TAMIAMI TRAIL 12 © 1996
Photographic Story Big Cypress National Preserve, Florida – Because our gallery and home are on Tamiami Trail, traveling along the Trail is almost a daily experience. It is a visual delight, and I never tire of it. I try to take my camera with me as often as possible, so that at opportune moments I can jump out of the car and capture a scene. I chose to use this image as the 16×20” image for the numbered, limited, edition of my book, Nature’s Places of Spiritual Sanctuary, because it represents my feelings toward the Everglades ecosystem. The vast amount of land covered in a “River of Grass”, looked over by beautiful, rolling thunderheads, has always touched my heart. South Florida is not only my home…it holds my heart. Analog – Archival Silver Gelatin Photograph Clyde’s silver gelatin black and white images are created using an 8” x 10”, 11” x 14”, or 12” x 20” view camera. Clyde prints his images in his own darkroom on fiber-base paper in a limited edition. The photographs are selenium toned, then mounted and matted to current archival standards. His images come in sizes from 8” x 10” inches to 5’x 8’ feet. His love of art and nature is seen in the exceptional detail and more subtle textures of his photography.
