This soft-bound book is a supplement to the exhibition Myakka River: A Florida Treasure.  This catalog explores Myakka River State Park, one of Florida’s oldest and largest state parks.  Discover why Clyde and Niki Butcher love this park and have found solace there, after moving to Sarasota County from the Big Cypress National Preserve. Learn about the varying ecosystems along the Myakka River and the efforts by the Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast to preserve this Florida treasure. Clyde has been photographing the Myakka River since 2001. Myakka became his refuge and place of healing after his stroke in 2017. Through his collection of photographs, Clyde hopes to bring an awareness of our amazing Florida ecosystem and create a connection to a place that brought him so much healing and peace.
