Limited Edition set: only 75 exclusive pairings available. Featuring Clyde’s iconic 'Eye Encounter' image, crafted in 1969 and newly printed on Silver Gelatin paper. Pre-orders open now! Act fast to secure yours at the current price; prices will rise as the edition sells out. Every photograph is hand-printed in the darkroom on Ilford Multigrade Art 300 Paper, renowned for its textured matte surface and delicate eggshell sheen. The image measures 8 inches in diameter and is selenium toned to ensure archival quality. It is then hinge-mounted and matted to 12x14”, personally signed, and numbered by Clyde himself. To preserve the intimacy of the image, we have made the decision not to showcase it online. The iconic image comes encased in a sophisticated black leather folio, with both the book and photograph personally signed and numbered. These treasures are presented within a refined black leather clamshell case adorned with exquisite gold foil detailing. Choosing a photo for this limited edition set to represent Clyde Butcher's Lifeworks in Photography was challenging, as no single landscape picture could capture his entire body of work. During the book’s creation, we found the perfect image: Eye Encounter. In 1969, Clyde used a nude photo of his wife to create an abstract work of art resembling an eye. This piece was used in the creation of the logo of his first ever company, Eye Encounter, which specialized in the sale of framed photographic images. This print symbolizes the beginning of his career in photography; it embodies the beauty of his wife, showcases his creativity in the darkroom, and represents his vision through both his eyes and the eyes of the viewer. This book is a comprehensive reflection of Clyde's remarkable 60-year journey in photography, divided into twelve captivating chapters. Each chapter unveils unique aspects of his life, accompanied by stunning photographs chronicling adventures across the US and abroad. The book also features a chronological timeline of Clyde's life with stories behind each black-and-white photograph.
