Washington D.C. on Capitol Hill
Exhibit: Clyde Butcher, A Florida Icon
February 1, 2024 - January 31, 2025
The exhibit “Clyde Butcher: A Florida Icon” is at the Florida House on Capitol Hill until year’s end. Explore Butcher’s work and stories behind each piece at the state embassy in Washington, DC. Enjoy hospitality with a glass of cold orange juice in the beautifully restored Victorian house. Just a block from the U.S. Capitol, it offers a commanding view of the Capitol Dome and treasures from across the state. If you are in Washington, D.C., make sure you stop in to see Florida’s own Ansel Adams.
“The essence of my Florida photographs goes beyond the images themselves. It’s a tribute to the intertwining of passion and service. By pursuing my love for photography, I’ve discovered avenues to contribute to causes larger than myself—be it environmental advocacy or simply sharing the beauty of nature with fellow citizens. Following our passions authentically leads us to positively impact the lives of others. May this collection of Florida images inspire you to explore your passions, delve into the depths of what moves your spirit, and realize the potential for making a difference in the lives of those around you.” – Clyde Butcher.
