We were exploring the outer banks of the Florida Keys, looking for possible photographs, when we came across this island with a sand spit reaching into the turquoise waters. We pulled our boat up and anchored. Niki grabbed the conch shell we had gotten while boating in the Bahamas and expertly placed it on the beach, which made a nice foreground.

An update on Clyde! At 81, Clyde recently underwent knee replacement surgery. The healing journey has been challenging, but he is doing well and remains in good spirits. Your support means the world to him and helps brighten his days.

I rarely photograph man-made structures, but when

I rarely photograph man-made structures, but when I saw the lighthouse on Key Biscayne, its exotic presence inspired me to take a picture.

Several years after I photographed it, Hurricane Andrew crossed over the island, leaving a path of destruction. The lighthouse survived, but the land surrounding it looks very different now.

I was first introduced to the beauty of the interi

I was first introduced to the beauty of the interior of Florida at Tom Gaskins’ property along Highway 27 in Central Florida.

After visiting with Tom at his Cypress Knee Museum, he invited Niki and me to explore the boardwalk on the back of his property. We didn’t expect our path to be a catwalk of two-by-four boards nailed to a tree. We were literally walking on a board over the swampland.
