CORAL COAST 2 © 2002
Cuba
Photographic Story
I found the coral coast of Cuba to be a rugged, desolate, and starkly beautiful area. The plants that survive in this region are hardy and unique, bonsai-like plants with wonderfully artistic shapes. The ecosystem Coral Coast 2, near Santiago de Cuba Salto el Rocio 2, near Trinidad reminded me of a desert. Only instead of sand, I was standing on top of coral. I could have spent a week or more just photographing this area, but we had to move on and up into the mountains.
Digital – Archival Pigment Print
This photograph was taken with an analog large format camera. After Clyde develops the negative, the film is scanned and edited in a computer program mimicking his darkroom techniques. The photograph is printed on an Epson Stylus 4800 or 11880 printer. Clyde uses archival Ultra-chrome K3 ink and prints on archival Harman Hahnemuhle paper. The limited-edition photograph is then mounted and matted to current archival standards. This is a limited edition series and each photograph is numbered.
