ELK POND © 1997Rocky Mountain National Park, CO
Every afternoon I would drive up to the tundra at 12,000 ft. to look for possible photographs. When I saw the Elk surround this pond, I was enticed with the idea of photographing a pond on the very edge of a cliff, but I had to wait until the Elk left. After they finished their afternoon naps, and left the area, I hiked down to the pond and took this photograph.
