HALF DOME 48 © 2006Yosemite National Park, CA
I usually opt for a wide-angle lens, seldom shooting with a long lens. However, I used a 450mm lens on my 5”x 7” view camera for this shot. For two hours, I waited for the light and shadows on the face of Half Dome to be just right. I watched other photographers arrive, leave, and return as I patiently waited for the light to do its magic! Finally, the light shifted, and I could capture what I envisioned. Half Dome 48 is one of my favorite images of Yosemite.
