Yosemite holds a special place in my heart. My first visit to Yosemite was with Niki, and we fell in love while visiting this beautiful valley. In the early 1970s, I took my newly acquired 5 x 7″ camera, intending to capture the beauty of the park. I couldn’t quite figure it out and wasn’t at all satisfied with my results. As the years passed, we returned with our children when we had time for a family adventure, but I rarely took a camera. After living in Florida for several years, Niki and I returned to Yosemite in 2006 for a three-week stay. I brought two cameras, that same 5 x 7″ camera and a 6 x 10″ large-format camera. The light was right, the weather was perfect, and to top off our trip, I was satisfied with the images I captured.
