PRAIRIE CREEK REDWOODS 1 © 1996Redwood National Park, CA
As I got out my camera gear and prepared to take a picture, I was amazed at the enormous number of people who would stop their cars, jump out excitedly, and run around in circles pointing up at the redwoods. Then they’d quickly jump back in and head on to the next “pull-out” on the side of the road, never taking the time to hike the trails and experience the spiritual rejuvenation offered by the forest. This occurrence was a reminder to me that I should not rush through life, striving merely to reach a destination, when the trip itself is a wonderful joy.
