FLYING DUTCHMAN © 1982
Newport Beach, CA

Flying-Dutchman_1600px
According to legend, the Flying Dutchman was a ghost ship destined to sail the seven seas forever, never to reach the harbor. I felt that this was an apt title for this image because, at that time, I, too, was adrift as I struggled to find compelling subjects to photograph in Florida. Inspired by Salvador Dalí’s dream-like scenes and wanting to try something new, I sought to capture a more fantastical image by double-exposing a space image with an image of a square rigger I had taken in Newport Beach, California. This photograph is printed on a large format Epson printer using genuine Epson ink and archival Harman Hahnemuhle paper. Each photograph is digitally signed, then mounted and matted to current archival standards. This is a limited edition series and each photograph is numbered.
