HIGHLANDS HAMMOCK TRAIL © 2020Sebring, FL
In 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, I bought a new Leica M10 monochrome camera, and I was anxious to get out and use it! Seeking time in the wilderness, Niki and I headed to Highlands Hammock State Park for a week of adventuring and photographing. When I saw this scene, I knew I wanted to capture it. Everything was perfect except for the light. I needed even lighting, so we sat and waited. Almost two hours later, the clouds finally rolled in, obstructing the sun. Spending that time listening to the silence of nature was so pleasant. It also felt good to capture the image I saw in my mind.
