MATLACHA PASS © 1991Charlotte Harbor, Florida
Among my many photographic endeavors, this one easily stands out as one of the least challenging and most comfortable. While out boating, Niki and I saw a cloud formation forming over the still waters of Charlotte Harbor. We pulled our pontoon boat onto a sandbar, and I set up my camera while Niki prepared breakfast. The rhythm was simple; I captured an image of the cloud, savored a pancake while waiting for the cloud to change shape, and took another shot. Of course, it didn’t end with two shots and one pancake. In the end, I may have captured more pancakes than photographs!
