MYAKKA OAK 20 © 2014Myakka River State Park, Sarasota
I encountered this old oak tree while walking down a trail in Myakka River State Park. At first, I wanted to photograph the whole old oak tree, but I was stumped as to how to capture the entirety of the tree, so I walked around it, searching for the best composition. As I circled the tree, this magnificent scene of grassland framed by the rugged old oak limb came into my view. This photo is a gentle reminder that taking a different perspective can often lead to unexpected and wonderful outcomes!
