MYAKKA 6 © 2001Myakka River State Park, Sarasota
I’ve enjoyed getting to know Myakka State Park. It is one of the oldest and largest State Parks in Florida and has an amazing variety in its environment. When I took this image it was summer and the park was closed due to flooding, but the rangers were kind enough to drive me through the park on the flooded roads so I could photograph. It was a fun day having the park all to myself, and because there was water everywhere there were a lot of photographic opportunities.
