This Everglades image taken by Scott is printed on archival photographic paper, mounted on 1/8” Dibond, and sealed with a satin finish for UV, dust, and scratch protection.  Strong, lightweight, and ready to hang. Getting up early to photograph the sunrise sounds easy enough to most people, but when it means you have to cross a deep water canal in the pitch dark, balancing your gear on a small kayak and trying to find a level ground to disembark, the task becomes risky and unpredictable. Fortunately, everything went well with our short but hazardous portage and we were able to walk the 40 minutes across this vast prairie in time to set up the gear and capture this image using a vertically positioned Fuji medium format camera and stitching 9 images together in post-processing. Clyde Butcher's large format camera techniques capture the vast and mysterious space that the Everglades are known for. My use of the digital camera in this was not only my attempt to emulate this master photographer's style but was also in response to his and Niki Butcher's teaching and encouragement. I am forever grateful to the Butchers for their influence on my photographic evolution. Wetland Prairie, fringed by cypress strand and dotted by cypress domes, Big Cypress National Preserve, Florida.
