You may wonder why so many people visit Yellowston You may wonder why so many people visit Yellowstone National Park. The land is so unstable; it’s a little nerve-racking. But I enjoy photographing the diverse geological land formations that are features of the park. The area around Orange Spring Mound is fascinating; however, the intensity of the value scale makes it very difficult for black and white photography.

"Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but "Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present" -Bil Keane

Now that we have added a second location for my ga Now that we have added a second location for my gallery and studio in Venice, I am finding the opportunity to explore the Myakka State Park.

For a good portion of the summer, Myakka was submerged under an abundance of water, making it a wet wonderland of tropical splendor. However, the abundance of water forced the park to close its gates.

Fortunately, Ranger Paula was kind enough to drive me around in the park jeep to many unique locations. Everywhere I looked I found great scenes to photograph…Myakka is truly a beautiful place.

I was working with Elam Stoltzfus on a documentary I was working with Elam Stoltzfus on a documentary about the Aquatic Preserves in Florida when we came across the St. Sebastian River – a tributary that runs into the Indian River Lagoon on the east coast of Florida.

As we entered the St. Sebastian River we found a quiet intimate sanctuary that felt good after the broad openness of the Indian River Lagoon. We quietly canoed up the river until I saw this beautiful oak hanging over the river.

When I climbed out of the boat, I discovered the bank had a very steep drop-off. I had to crowd up into the bushes in order to not slip into the depths of the river, camera and all!

Niki and I headed to the Washington coast and Olym Niki and I headed to the Washington coast and Olympic National Park on a mission to photograph coastal images. Our goal was to photograph big waves in the Pacific Ocean, but instead, we decided to check out the Hoh Rainforest.

The high humidity mixed with the cool temperatures made it quite comfortable, and we stayed for the next several days. We were so fascinated by the rainforest that we only spent one day photographing the Pacific Ocean. The smells and lush green reminded me of Florida swamps.

The Aspen trees had just begun to change into thei The Aspen trees had just begun to change into their fall colors as I entered the high country of Utah. I had just spent a week down in the desert, and as we came up into the mountains it felt good to once again be among the trees. When I saw this scene, with the light reflecting off the bright yellow leaves of the Aspen trees, it gave me a wonderful feeling of being alive. I scrambled to capture the scene before the sun disappeared.
